Members of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) are celebrating former President Rodrigo Duterte’s 81st birthday with 81 cakes, symbolizing his age.
Duterte, currently detained in The Hague over alleged crimes against humanity, will be honored through messages of support from PDP members and supporters.
The event will feature musical performances, including a set by internationally recognized musician Waway Saway.
The highlight will be the ceremonial slicing of the cakes, which will be distributed to attendees.
Party members are also expected to reaffirm support for Vice President Sara Duterte’s 2028 presidential bid, while a similar celebration is planned in Davao City.
