PCG TAKES ACTION: VESSEL WITH 7 CHINESE NATIONALS DETAINED

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) detained the M/T Hyperline 988 off Zambales after its seven Chinese crewmembers failed to present the required documents and initially did not respond to identification calls.

Despite claiming to dock for affordability reasons, the vessel’s crew failed to present necessary documents, including passports and seaman’s books.

PCG’s canine unit found no illegal drugs on board, but the vessel had 21 deficiencies.

Meanwhile, the military commended the Atin Ito coalition for delivering food and fuel to fishermen in Panatag Shoal, asserting the country’s sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros praised the mission’s success, emphasizing Filipino unity in protecting sovereignty amidst China’s claims.
