PCG CONFRONTS CHINESE ‘MONSTER SHIP’ NEAR ZAMBALES WATERS

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) challenged a large Chinese vessel, referred to as a “monster ship,” spotted near the waters of Zambales.

The ship was detected operating without prior notification, prompting the PCG to issue a radio challenge to assert Philippine sovereignty.

This incident highlights ongoing maritime tensions in the West Philippine Sea, where China’s presence continues to raise concerns.

The PCG emphasized its commitment to upholding maritime laws and protecting the country’s territorial waters.

Officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure no escalation occurs.
