Following a state visit to Brunei Darussalam, President Marcos arrived in Singapore on Wednesday, May 29, to deliver the keynote address at the 21st International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue on Friday.
Arriving at 4:52 p.m., Marcos will discuss the Philippines’ stance on defense, diplomacy, and a rules-based order amid Indo-Pacific geopolitical tensions.
Highlighting the importance of his speech, Marcos noted the global significance of the West Philippine Sea for international trade and policymaking.
He will also hold high-level meetings with Singaporean officials during his two-day visit. This visit, his fourth to Singapore, coincides with the 55th anniversary of Philippine-Singapore diplomatic relations.
