Malacañang has chosen not to engage in a public dispute with Senator Imee Marcos following her criticism of the impending enactment of the 2025 national budget.
Senator Marcos likened President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s decision to sign the budget to “a thief in the night before [the] New Year,” highlighting several contentious provisions.
Despite the senator’s remarks, the Palace has refrained from issuing a response, indicating a preference to avoid internal conflict.
The 2025 national budget includes various allocations that have sparked debate among lawmakers and the public.
The President is expected to sign the budget into law before the year’s end.
