The Philippine government will provide at least ₱100 million in fuel subsidies to farmers and fishers amid rising oil prices caused by Middle East tensions, the Department of Agriculture (DA) announced.
Farmers will receive ₱5,000 each, while fishers will get ₱3,000, with initial distributions covering 9,700 farmers and 15,800 fishers.
Eligibility requires registration in the government’s agricultural and fisherfolk registries and compliance with production or fishing standards.
The subsidies will be disbursed through Interventions Monitoring Cards (IMCs) linked to fuel stations, with vouchers available for areas lacking connectivity.
Additional fuel aid totaling ₱50 million will be released if global oil prices reach $80 per barrel, while the DA continues to provide free farm inputs to support local food production.
