Vice President Sara Duterte filed perjury charges against self-confessed security consultant Ramil Madriaga at the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday.
She accused Madriaga, an accused kidnapper, of posing as a campaign supporter and fabricating testimonies to implicate her in an impeachment case.
Duterte likened his claims to previous false testimonies used against her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, at the International Criminal Court.
Madriaga alleged he received campaign funds from offshore gaming, drug money, and confidential security funds, which Duterte denied, saying the photos he submitted were unrelated and taken during public events.
She added that his actions seem motivated by desperation to secure his release and aim to derail her 2028 presidential bid.
