Rumors circulated over the weekend about the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing an arrest warrant for former president Rodrigo Duterte, though no official confirmation has been made.
Duterte was in Hong Kong during the speculation, attending an event with overseas Filipino workers alongside his daughter, impeached Vice President Sara Duterte.
The ICC website has not posted any updates, and its Office of the Prosecutor has yet to respond to inquiries.
Presidential Communications Secretary Jay Ruiz said the government is prepared for any development, while Palace officials stated they have yet to receive formal notice.
Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra clarified that any official communication would come through the Department of Foreign Affairs.
