NINTENDO FILM SEQUEL TOPS GLOBAL AND PH BOX OFFICE CHARTS

“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” opened to a strong global debut, earning $372.5 million worldwide, including $182.5 million from international markets, making it the biggest opening of 2026 so far.

In the Philippines, the film also set a new benchmark with an opening-day gross of P12.47 million, according to Universal Pictures Philippines.

The animated sequel, produced by Universal Pictures, Illumination, and Nintendo, continues the story of Mario and Luigi as they face a new intergalactic threat.

The film features returning voice actors, including Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, and Anya Taylor-Joy, along with new cast member Brie Larson as Rosalina.

Now showing in Philippine cinemas, the film continues to draw strong audience turnout across global markets.
