Air Canada has launched a new direct flight route between Vancouver and Manila, a move expected to boost Philippine tourism, according to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco.
The inaugural flight arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Thursday, April 3, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the Philippines and Canada.
Frasco emphasized that the new route not only reconnects Filipino Canadians with their homeland but also invites more Canadians to experience the country’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
The service will operate three times a week, offering 57,216 seats annually.
As of April 3, the Philippines has welcomed over 1.68 million international tourists this year, with 91,671 coming from Canada.
