The Highway Patrol Group (HPG) is investigating a motorist involved in a viral road rage incident, where he was seen using a suspected fake protocol plate “8” intended for members of the House of Representatives.
HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malang stated that authorities are verifying the identity of the driver and the authenticity of the vehicle’s plate.
A video of the incident showed the suspect allegedly threatening another motorist while claiming connections to powerful figures.
The HPG is also looking into the potential illegal production and sale of fake protocol plates.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that the plate was not officially issued, raising concerns about the illegal distribution and use of such plates.
