The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has decided to extend the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for an additional week, following a remarkable milestone of reaching a total gross of P1 billion for the 10 movie entries.
MMDA Acting Chairman and MMFF Overall Concurrent Chairman Atty. Don Artes expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and requests received on social media to prolong the exhibition beyond its initially scheduled end date.
Artes acknowledged the public’s enthusiasm and encouraged moviegoers to take advantage of the extra days to watch all MMFF entries. Additionally, he highlighted the success of this year’s MMFF as a certified box office hit, signaling positive momentum as they prepare for the upcoming Manila International Film Festival (MIFF).
The 10 official entries will also be featured at the inaugural MIFF scheduled for January 29 to February 2, 2024, in Los Angeles, California.
