Isko Moreno announced he will not run for a national post in the 2028 elections, saying he will concentrate on ongoing local government programs and development in Manila.
He denied rumors that Vice President Sara Duterte asked him to be her running mate, while joking that he might seek a second term as mayor.
Moreno expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for providing financial support for a new medical school building and subsidized rice for residents.
He emphasized prioritizing programs in housing, education, health care, and jobs for Manila citizens.
The announcement coincided with the groundbreaking of Binondominium 2, a 15-story vertical housing project, marking the sixth such initiative under his administration.
