President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. has called for support from government agencies and stakeholders for the 22nd Asian Karate Youth Championship, set to take place from August 22 to 25 at the Philsports Multi-purpose Arena in Pasig City.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Memorandum Circular No. 55 on July 16 to formalize the event.
The championship will feature 38 countries and approximately 900 athletes, organized by the Philippine Sports Commission and Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation Inc.
Marcos emphasized that hosting the tournament will promote Karate in the Philippines and provide valuable training opportunities for local athletes.
The memorandum is effective immediately, marking the country’s commitment to the event.
