DESPITE RAIN, ANGAT DAM WATER LEVELS CONTINUE TO FALL

Despite heavy rains across Luzon in recent days, the water level at Angat Dam in Bulacan continued to decline, reaching 173.93 meters as of 8 a.m. yesterday, down by 18 centimeters from its previous level.

This elevation remains 36.07 meters below Angat’s normal high water mark of 210 meters and 6.07 meters below its minimum operating level of 180 meters.

Patrick Dizon from the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System noted that water pressure reductions for Metro Manila households will persist due to the ongoing decrease in the reservoir’s elevation, emphasizing the critical role of Angat Dam, which supplies over 90 percent of the capital’s potable water and irrigates 25,000 hectares of farmland.
