MARCOLETA TAPPED TO LEAD BLUE RIBBON, TRADE PANELS

Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino secured key committee chairmanships after aligning with the Senate majority bloc, taking over the agriculture and education committees, respectively.

Neophyte Senator Rodante Marcoleta was appointed chair of the influential Blue Ribbon committee and the trade and commerce panel.

Other first-time senators also received notable assignments, including Erwin Tulfo (social justice and games) and Camille Villar (environment), while senior senators largely retained or shifted into strategic committees.

Minority senators Risa Hontiveros, Ping Lacson, Loren Legarda, and Migz Zubiri have yet to receive committee posts.

The Senate also began first readings of new and refiled bills as its session resumed.
