The groundbreaking of a new 10-story annex for the Universidad de Manila (UdM) in Tondo is set to enhance access to quality tertiary education for deserving students.
Led by Mayor Honey Lacuna, the project will be built at the Vitas Skate Park and is expected to be completed by 2026 for PHP400 million.
Once finished, the annex will provide 48 classrooms, 15 multi-function rooms, and a gym, allowing UdM to accept more students, particularly from Tondo.
Lacuna credited 2nd District Rep. Rolan Valeriano and other officials for securing funding for the project.
UdM currently serves over 10,000 students, who receive a monthly allowance from the city.
