Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday signed into law the city’s ₱25-billion budget for 2026, prioritizing programs on health, housing, education, and job creation.
The budget, enacted through Ordinance 9145, allocates ₱6.79 billion for personnel services, ₱10.92 billion for maintenance and other operating expenses, and ₱107 million for capital outlay.
Moreno said the spending plan is anchored on the city’s Minimum Basic Needs (MBN) framework to address essential services for residents.
The health sector will receive the largest share of ₱2.39 billion, covering operations of the Manila Health Department and the city’s seven hospitals, including the President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital.
Moreno emphasized that the budget reflects his administration’s continuing commitment to improving the quality of life for Manileños.
