Transport group Manibela will hold a three-day nationwide strike from September 17 to 19 to protest corruption linked to alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
They condemned the use of diesel excise taxes from jeepney drivers to allegedly fund the lavish lifestyles of corrupt officials and their families.
Another transport group, Piston, also announced a one-day strike on September 18 against corruption.
These protests come amid ongoing congressional investigations into the flood control project irregularities.
Additional anti-corruption rallies, including the “A Trillion Peso March,” are planned for September 21, coinciding with the 53rd anniversary of martial law.
