LUGANO SHOCKS SERBIA’S UB TO WIN FIBA 3X3 MANILA CHALLENGER

Switzerland’s Lugano captured the FIBA 3×3 Manila Challenger crown after stunning top-seeded UB of Serbia, 21-19, in a nail-biting finale at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

Tournament MVP Mike Efevberha sealed the upset with a clutch two-point shot, capping off Lugano’s perfect 5-0 run.

Alongside teammates Adris Jimenez, Bikramjit Gill, and Westher Molteni, Efevberha propelled the Swiss crew to the World Tour Macau Masters while bagging $20,000 in prize money.

Serbia’s UB settled for second place, with Taipei’s WanBao taking third, also qualifying for Macau.

The Philippines’ SBP-Mandaluyong reached the quarterfinals before bowing out to WanBao, finishing as the best-performing local team at eighth place.
