The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is collaborating with local government units to offer free transportation during a “unity walk” by transport groups supporting the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP).
LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III announced that the initiative aims to minimize disruption for commuters.
The unity walk, scheduled for August 5, is organized by transport cooperatives in favor of the PTMP.
In response to a Senate resolution calling for the suspension of the PTMP, Pasang Masda president Roberto Martin condemned the move and threatened a transport strike if the resolution is passed.
Martin emphasized that a significant portion of the transport sector supports the PTMP and will demonstrate their commitment through the strike.
