The historic moment occurred at the 7:10 mark of the first quarter during the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz. James entered the game needing just five points to surpass the 39,000-point mark and wasted no time in achieving this feat.
Off a handoff by his teammate Anthony Davis, James confidently sank a left wing 3-pointer, solidifying his position as the new all-time leading scorer. This accomplishment adds to his already impressive list of accolades, including four NBA championships.
Earlier this year, in February, James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing scoring record, cementing his status as one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the game.
James is also the oldest active NBA player at 38 years-old (turning 39 next month)
Throughout the season, James has consistently demonstrated his exceptional skills, averaging 26.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
