Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson criticized Sen. Imee Marcos for denouncing the 2026 national budget as “tadtad ng pork” despite having billions in allocable funds in the 2025 budget, according to the Cabral files.
Records showed Marcos had around P2.5 billion in allocables at the National Expenditure Program stage, and some projects survived into the final enrolled bill.
Lacson noted that Marcos did not object to these allocations during bicameral conference deliberations, yet publicly criticized increases in certain 2026 budget programs she labeled as “soft pork.”
He also dismissed her claim that the Blue Ribbon committee was pressured to protect officials like former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, calling it false and irresponsible.
Lacson added that Marcos’ repeated attacks have crossed into personal insults, undermining the integrity of a committee she herself serves on.
