Veteran playmaker LA Tenorio has officially taken over as head coach of the Magnolia Hotshots, marking a new chapter in his basketball career after 13 years with Barangay Ginebra.
Tenorio replaces Chito Victolero, who led Magnolia for nine years but was let go after the team’s quarterfinal exit in Season 49.
Known for embodying Ginebra’s iconic never-say-die (NSD) spirit, the 41-year-old vowed to instill the same competitive mindset into Magnolia as they seek to end a title drought dating back to the 2018 Governors’ Cup.
Tenorio, a seven-time PBA champion, acknowledged the weight of his new role but said he believes coaching Magnolia is his new purpose.
The Hotshots hope his winning experience and leadership will bring them back to championship contention in the league’s milestone Season 50.
