KONE OPENS PHILIPPINES’ FIRST ACADEMY TO TRAIN SMART CITY WORKFORCE

KONE has officially opened its first KONE Academy in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, to train skilled professionals for the country’s growing smart city infrastructure needs.

The academy currently trains 620 elevator and escalator technicians annually, with plans to increase capacity to 800 by 2027 and certify 4,400 professionals by 2030.

The facility offers hands-on training in installation, maintenance, and modernization using advanced technologies aligned with KONE’s global standards.

The academy also functions as a Customer Experience Center, showcasing innovations like eco-efficient hoisting technology and remote diagnostic services.

This initiative supports the Philippines’ rapid urbanization and smart city programs by developing a future-ready workforce and advancing sustainable infrastructure.
