The defense chiefs of the Philippines and Singapore, Gilberto Teodoro Jr. and Ng Eng Hen, committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation in mutual interests and regional security during the Shangri-La Dialogue.
They emphasized the importance of collaboration in regional and multilateral forums. Teodoro also met with South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik and EU High Representative Josep Borrell Fontelles to discuss regional security and deepen defense cooperation.
Teodoro highlighted the 75-year defense relationship between the Philippines and South Korea and expressed the need for EU support in maritime security and cybersecurity.
Both South Korea and the EU expressed their willingness to strengthen defense ties with the Philippines.
