Government offices and schools in Manila and Pasay City will be closed on Monday to accommodate the “million-strong” rally organized by Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) opposing the impeachment calls against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Thousands of police will oversee the event, with major roads near Quirino Grandstand in Luneta closed and traffic rerouted.
INC, known for its significant political influence, has expressed opposition to the House’s impeachment complaints, which accuse Duterte of fund misuse and plotting against President Marcos.
Marcos urged lawmakers to set aside the complaints, calling them a distraction from the government’s development agenda.
Similar rallies will be held in 13 provinces, signaling widespread support for Duterte ahead of the May midterm elections and the anticipated 2028 presidential race.
