The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has turned over documents on alleged anomalous flood control projects to the Department of Justice for further review.
ICI Chair Andres Reyes met with Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida and other officials, including leaders of the National Bureau of Investigation, to support possible case filings.
The DOJ said it will examine the materials to determine if they can lead to charges related to corruption in multibillion-peso infrastructure projects.
The ICI has also submitted evidence to the Office of the Ombudsman and recommended winding down its operations by the end of March after completing its findings.
The commission reported referring dozens of individuals for investigation and helping freeze thousands of bank accounts linked to around ₱24.7 billion in suspected irregular funds.
