Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte criticized the International Criminal Court for selective prosecution and political bias, accusing it of targeting leaders from smaller nations while remaining silent on Middle East conflicts.
He described the ICC as “a lapdog of the powerful” and called its inaction in Iran and Palestine a form of complicity, contrasting it with the investigation of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s anti-drug campaign.
Duterte also questioned the expansion of Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites in the Philippines, warning that they expose Filipino communities to potential danger amid global tensions.
He argued that foreign military access could turn local areas into legitimate targets in the event of conflict, prioritizing US interests over national security.
Meanwhile, supporters of Vice President Sara Duterte held nationwide “Green Rise: Action and Hope for 2028” activities to demonstrate unity, courage, and resilience across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
