The Duterte family confirmed that no visitations have been approved during former President Rodrigo Duterte’s trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC), though he can still make telephone calls.
Several Filipino lawyers, including Salvador Medialdea, Martin Delgra III, Silvestre Bello III, Alfredo Lim Jr., Caesar Dulay, and Salvador Panelo, will attend the confirmation of charges hearing from February 23 to 27.
Duterte, who was arrested on March 11, 2025, faces crimes against humanity charges linked to killings during his time as Davao City mayor and president.
The former president will not attend the hearing in person, as the Pre-Trial Chamber granted his request to waive his appearance.
The ICC has not issued a response regarding the family’s claims about visitation arrangements.
