The House of Representatives has requested a designated work area in the Senate building for its prosecution team during Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.
In a letter dated March 5, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco asked Senate President Francis Escudero to allow an ocular inspection of the assigned room.
The Senate received the request on March 6, as preparations for the trial continue.
Duterte, who was impeached by the House on Feb. 5, has denied allegations against her and challenged the impeachment complaint before the Supreme Court.
The trial is expected to be a major political event as both chambers prepare for the proceedings.
