Former Senate President Franklin Drilon is set to release his autobiography, Being Frank: A Memoir, on February 9, offering an insider’s account of his decades-long career in government.
The 254-page book covers his time in the Senate, key political events, landmark laws, and his role as a senator-judge in the impeachment trials of former President Joseph Estrada and Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Drilon shares personal experiences, including the intense pressure and conflicting calls he received during the Estrada trial, as well as legal strategies and lessons from both impeachment proceedings.
He hopes the memoir will serve as a guide for young lawyers and public servants, emphasizing conscience, integrity, and service in a democracy.
The book also highlights Drilon’s long Senate tenure, key Cabinet posts under Presidents Corazon Aquino and Fidel Ramos, and behind-the-scenes insights into the workings of Philippine politics.
