Local and international anglers will compete in the inaugural Subic Bay Shore Fishing Tournament from August 8 to 10 at the San Bernardino Fishing Site in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Organized by Fish’n Town and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), the event aims to promote sustainable fishing and highlight the area’s rich marine biodiversity.
SBMA Chair Eduardo Aliño expressed hopes to make Subic Bay the fishing capital of Northern Philippines through responsible outdoor tourism.
The tournament is supported by Smart Communications, Jollibee, and Columbia Sportswear, and is expected to boost local tourism by drawing participants and spectators to the area.
The event also emphasizes marine conservation and responsible fishing, aligning with Subic Bay’s environmental stewardship goals.
