The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning about the Drivemax Plus Brand herbal dietary supplement after tests revealed it contains sildenafil citrate, a prescription drug used for erectile dysfunction.
The FDA identified several batches of Drivemax Plus, with expiry dates ranging from 2025 to 2026, as containing this prohibited ingredient.
Sildenafil citrate, commonly found in Viagra, is not allowed in food supplements due to its potential health risks, particularly for individuals with heart, kidney, or blood pressure issues.
The FDA has instructed law enforcement and local government units to prevent the sale of the affected products.
Consumers who have taken the supplement are urged to consult a doctor if they experience any side effects, including headaches, dizziness, urinary tract infections, and vision changes.
