As of July 29, total enrollment for public and private schools across all basic education levels in the Philippines reached 19,870,531, with 17,349,300 students in public schools and 2,285,923 in private schools.
The Alternative Learning System (ALS) recorded 209,471 enrollees, and State and Local Universities and Colleges offering basic education enrolled 25,837 students.
Region IV-A reported the highest number of enrollees with 2,811,458, followed by Region III with 2,216,637, and the National Capital Region with 2,185,237.
Despite the official enrollment period ending on July 26, public schools continue to accept late enrollees.
Over 800 public schools in five regions have postponed their opening dates to conduct clean-up and rehabilitation activities due to the impact of Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon.
