DONATION DEAL SIGNED BETWEEN THE PHILIPPINES AND STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY

The Philippine embassy in Sweden signed a Donation Agreement with Stockholm University to support its Philippine Studies Program. 

The agreement was formalized on September 2 at the university’s Frescati Campus, led by Ambassador Patrick Chuasoto and Associate Professor Birgit Tremml-Werner.

The program aims to promote research, teaching, and academic exchange on Philippine history, culture, and society to strengthen ties between the Philippines and Sweden.

Ambassador Chuasoto highlighted projects like the Silid-Aralan sa Embahada and the translation of José Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere into Swedish to increase Filipino cultural awareness. 

Meanwhile, Tremml-Werner discussed plans for activities such as screenings and lectures on Philippine cinema classics.
