DOJ PLACES SEVEN OVP OFFICIALS ON TRAVEL WATCHLIST

The Department of Justice (DOJ) issued an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) for seven officials from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) who have avoided attending a congressional inquiry into alleged misuse of government funds.

The order, signed by Justice Secretary Remulla, allows the Bureau of Immigration to monitor their travel and check for any arrest warrants.

The House subpoenaed the OVP officials after failing to attend hearings on the misuse of millions in confidential funds.

Lawmakers, including Rep. Zia Adiong, urged the officials to testify, while discussions of impeachment were deemed premature.

The House also welcomed the Senate’s decision to cut the OVP’s budget for 2025 amid the allegations.
