Three Akbayan lawmakers—Chel Diokno, Percival Cendana, and Dadah Kiram Ismula—joined civic groups at the People Power Monument in Quezon City on Sunday.
They urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration to hold accountable those involved in the massive corruption in infrastructure projects through the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI).
Diokno emphasized that the resignation of the House Speaker and the replacement of the DPWH secretary are not enough, calling for criminal charges and the return of stolen public funds.
Ismula warned that similar corrupt projects may exist in Mindanao, while Cendana stressed that no one should be spared from accountability, even if they are relatives of officials.
Protesters under the TAMA NA movement marched on EDSA, chanting calls to end corruption.
