DICT ASSURES PUBLIC: NO NEED TO PANIC OVER EXPECTED CYBERATTACKS

Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda assured the public that there is no need to panic over possible cyberattacks expected on the International Day of Hacktivists.

Aguda said government agencies, banks, and telecommunications firms are fully equipped and prepared to counter Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

He emphasized that cybersecurity teams remain vigilant and have anti-DDoS systems in place to minimize disruptions.

The public may experience minor website or app slowdowns, but is advised to stay calm and alert.

Aguda said the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is raising awareness as a precautionary measure.
