Detained televangelist and senatorial aspirant Apollo Quiboloy claimed that God called him to enter politics to bring “direction and development” to the Philippines.
Speaking via a recorded message at his campaign launch, he hinted at a future presidential bid and praised Vice President Sara Duterte for having a vision similar to his.
Quiboloy insisted he is not a politician but a leader who will bring “prosperity, stability, and excellence” to the country.
His campaign announcement comes despite his ongoing detention over human trafficking and child abuse charges.
Before his arrest, he evaded authorities multiple times while facing accusations of sexual abuse and exploitation.
