DBM APPROVES P1 BILLION FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS IN POORER LGUS

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved P1 billion for the establishment of Child Development Centers (CDCs) in low-income local government units (LGUs) across the country.

This initiative aligns with President Marcos’ focus on investing in education and human capital development.

The funding will support 328 LGUs, including areas in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

The CDCs, established through a joint circular between the Department of Education (DepEd) and the DBM, will provide early learning programs, family support services, and research on child development.

This initiative aims to strengthen the foundation of Filipino children, ensuring they receive the support they need before transitioning to formal schooling.
