DBM APPROVES EARLY 2025 PENSION FUNDS FOR MILITARY, UNIFORMED SECTORS

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman has approved the release of ₱30.409 billion to cover military and uniformed personnel (MUP) pensions for the first quarter of 2025, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive.

She emphasized the importance of pensions as a financial lifeline for retirees and their families, ensuring they receive their benefits promptly.

The funds are sourced from the Pension and Gratuity Fund under the 2025 General Appropriations Act.

Of the total amount, ₱16.752 billion was allocated to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, while ₱13.297 billion was distributed to the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s attached agencies.

Additionally, ₱8.530 million was released for 34 pensioners under NAMRIA, and ₱350.680 million was allocated for 2,836 retired Philippine Coast Guard personnel.
