A recent cybersecurity study conducted by Surfshark revealed that the Philippines ranked 30th among 163 countries with the most breached accounts in 2023.
According to the study, there were 705,470 breached accounts in the Philippines, showing an improvement from its 26th ranking in 2022.
Additionally, the breach density, which measures the number of leaked accounts per 1,000 residents, also improved from 70th place to 77th.
The data collected by Surfshark’s independent partners from 29,000 publicly available databases highlighted that the USA, Russia, and France topped the list with the highest number of breached accounts.
Notably, China, which ranked second in 2022, significantly improved to 12th place in 2023.
The study underscores the importance of cybersecurity measures to safeguard confidential information from unauthorized access.
