A San Juan court has denied Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s bid to stop former public works engineer Brice Hernandez from making further allegations linking him to irregular flood control projects.
Judge Aicitel Lascano-Nethercott of the San Juan RTC Branch 160 ruled that there was “no extreme urgency” to justify the issuance of a temporary restraining order.
Estrada said his plea for a preliminary injunction will be heard on November 12, maintaining that Hernandez’s accusations are baseless.
During a House inquiry last month, Hernandez claimed Estrada received kickbacks from flood control projects in Bulacan.
The controversy comes amid widening probes into alleged anomalies involving public officials and infrastructure contracts.
