The live-action series of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” has been renewed for two additional seasons, extending Aang’s quest to end the Fire Nation’s rule.
Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim, who portrays Fire Lord Ozai, made the announcement during a video chat with castmates Gordon Cormier (Aang), Dallas Liu (Prince Zuko), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Uncle Iroh), and Elizabeth Yu (Princess Azula).
Initially teasing with a fake-out apology, Dae Kim revealed the exciting news of the double renewal, sparking joyous reactions from the cast.
The live-action adaptation, based on the beloved animated series that aired from 2005 to 2008, follows Aang’s journey as the last airbender and Avatar to liberate the four Nations from Fire Nation dominance.
In a previous press conference, Cormier expressed the challenges and rewards of portraying Aang’s complex character.
