CIDG chief Police Major General Nicolas Torre III will file a formal complaint against vlogger Jun Abines for allegedly spreading false information claiming Torre was hospitalized. The charges will be filed under the Cybercrime Prevention Act for Unlawful Use of Means of Publication. Authorities have already seized Abines’ electronic devices during a search in Cebu City. Torre criticized vloggers who spread misinformation without accountability, saying the post caused unnecessary concern among his family and friends.
