As classes approach, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has released a price guide to assist consumers in purchasing school supplies.
The guide lists prices for items such as notebooks, pad paper, pencils, pens, crayons, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers, noting that 68% of prices remained unchanged, 8% decreased, and 24% increased.
Notebooks range from P11.80 to P52, while pad paper prices vary from P9.50 to P61.
The DTI emphasizes the importance of checking product labels for manufacturer or importer information and suggests streamlining the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) Bulletin to focus on essential items.
This proposal aims to enhance the SRP Bulletin’s relevance and effectiveness for consumers, following consultations with various stakeholders.
