Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevco) has appealed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to recognize the rights of third-party owners and investors in exchange for waiving a P1.42-billion arbitral award.
In a letter dated April 4, 2025, CJHDevco criticized the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) for padlocking residential units in Camp John Hay without due process following a Supreme Court ruling that returned the property to BCDA.
The verdict required CJHDevco to vacate the area and BCDA to refund P1.42 billion.
CJHDevco said the situation has left hundreds of homeowners and investors in limbo, urging the President to protect their rights and restore trust in public-private partnerships.
The corporation offered to forgo the arbitral award if the government ensured protection for affected parties and prevented further legal harm.
