Pop icon Britney Spears has taken to Instagram to deny rumors of a comeback and announce that she will never return to the music industry. In a post on January 4, Spears dismissed reports of a new album, stating that most of the news is “trash.”
However, she clarified that she is not completely closing the door on the music industry, as she has been working behind the scenes, writing songs for other artists. Spears revealed that she has already written over 20 songs for others in the past two years and enjoys ghostwriting.
She also addressed rumors that her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” was released without her consent, stating that those claims are false. In 2021, Spears’ 13-year conservatorship was officially terminated, granting her control over her life once again.
The singer expressed her excitement for her newfound freedom and thanked her fans for their support. Throughout her career, Spears has written several of her own hits. Her memoir became a national bestseller, selling over 1.1 million copies in its first week of release.
