The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a warning indicating that the Philippines is bracing for increasingly scorching temperatures until mid-May.
The weather bureau reported that numerous regions across the country, including Camarines Provinces, Palawan, Cavite City, and Zamboanga City, have already witnessed heat indexes exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, reaching as high as 42-43 degrees Celsius.
Dagupan City is expected to experience a sweltering 44ºC heat index today.
PAGASA’s Weather Specialist, Benison Estareja, cautioned that Metro Manila could face a heat index of 40-41°C tomorrow.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions as the heatwave persists.
